An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced technical individual to join the major accounts team on providing advise and guidance on all Autodesk 3D design technology. The Solutions Engineer is responsible for leading all technical aspects of an Autodesk sales campaign using in-depth industry and software knowledge to uncover customer business issues and suggest improvements, thus earning status as a trusted advisor with the customer. The solutions will not be carrying out demonstration but focus on the business challenges.
This key role sits in the newly created AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) Major Accounts team which offers the opportunity to have exposure to key global strategic clients. The Solutions Engineer will meet with individuals from all levels in the customer, from Technical Directors, CEO's to engineering designers, in order to understand issues and discuss solutions while evaluating areas of opportunity for expanded implementation of Autodesk solutions.
This role would be an excellent opportunity for an Application Engineer looking to develop their career further in a technical sales environment or a Solutions Engineer looking for a new challenge.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support the sales team with the direct engagement within large, global accounts across an assigned region.
* Identify and propose options for improvement or resolution of customer issues and relate those solutions directly to the customer' business goals/issues
* Present the proposed solutions and relate them to the customer's business issues
* Identify areas of opportunity for customer process improvement
* Establish metrics for quantifying the customer's return on investment and justification for solution investment
* Develop proposals in conjunction with consulting services for implementation of Autodesk solutions
* Report assessments back to customer for validation for solution development
* Perform in-depth assessment of customer processes
* Utilize Target Account Selling practices during the sales cycle
* Engage in strategic account planning with the sales representative throughout the sales process
* Maintain and grow respected, trusted advisor relationships with customers and members of the Autodesk sales force involved with the opportunity
* Develops long term customer relationships and achieves customer satisfaction goals.
* Perform analysis and lead discovery of adjacent opportunities
* Investigate, uncover and understand a customer's business issues
* Take ownership of technical sales opportunity
Required Competencies:
* Previous Solution Engineer or Application Engineer experience in a high tech environment combined with knowledge of 2D/3D software or similar design solutions
* Knowledge of the Construction, Civil engineering industry
* Technically sales motivated to work and build key relationships with major accounts executive understanding sales methodology to close deals
* Exposure of working with large global accounts understanding how matrix organization works
* Ability to work in fast paced, highly matrixed and entrepreneurial "start-up" environment, requiring superior skills in critical thinking, influencing and managing multiple priorities
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Degree qualified within a accredited institution in Architecture Design, Building Engineering or equivalent industry related academic qualifications.
