Senior Environment Designer Maya Game Dev

Double Helix is seeking environment artists with a passion for games and world building to become a member of the environment team. Candidates must have proven experience building environments in Maya.
Responsibilities
* Work with other artists and level designers to create geometry, textures, and lighting for interior and exterior 3D environments
* Communicate with designers, programmers and other members of the art team
* Give input on level design issues and provide creative solutions
* Work from concept art or photo reference to create environments
* Actively seek review and input from other artists, designers, and Art Lead
* Provide accurate time estimates and hit dates
Qualifications
* Preference given to Artists with Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or equivalent (Architecture or Industrial Design)
* Ability to create Sci-fi environments with organic modeling (i.e. rocky landscapes)
* Artist with a traditional background with environment concepts
* Ability to craft original compositions
* Knowledge of current/next gen techniques (hi-res normal transfer to low-res)
Requirements
* Minimum of 5years experience in a gaming company with 2 shipped titles
* Must have a strong portfolio (on CD or website) of 3D environments (preferably in Maya, both high- and low- detail)
* Hands-on experience creating and implementing environments in video or PC games
* Strong knowledge of Maya and Photoshop and Mudbox or ZBrush
* Excellent texture painting skills
* Collaborative work ethic
* Ability to provide accurate schedule estimates and hit dates
Portfolio Submissions
* Submit online portfolio or CD of your work including: images of 3D environments and objects; demonstrate levels of detail, material properties, textures, and lighting. It is also useful to include information about the environments, such as the number of polygons, texture sizes, etc.
* Any other art samples including: digital paintings, traditional paintings, textures, concept art, etc.
